My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A digital copy of this book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.

It's not often that once comes across an anthology that one feels needs to reach the society. When one does, one should make sure that they share it with the rest of the world. This is one such collection. This set of stories serves as a rude awakening to many of us who only attribute romances to sweetness. It's not until it's late, sometimes way too late, that one realises what a dangerously foolish choice and decision they had made. These stories show why it's imperative to not ignore the warnings that the mind voices whisper into your ears as you get carried away with someone's words. Because, you see, hindsight isn't always a saviour.

The stories all have different characters, premises and settings, all with an underlying theme - all of the characters paid the price for ignoring their gut instinct about someone. While one story talks about how a survivor battles on, one talks about the emotional turbulence that one gets when listening to recorded evidences of their beloved cheating on them. One story revolves around the life of a woman who has put up with a lot of crap from her partner for very long, and another gets a rude jolt when she realises that fairy tales don't always happen in real life.

It's hard to choose a favourite from among this collection. I found all of the stories pretty powerful, hitting the point home with a clear hammer. "Deer in Headlights" was particulary impactful. The writing styles of all authors were refreshingly unique and made the reader empathise with the protagonist in each tale.

This is a must-read, I'd say!
