A digital copy of this book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.
The tale revolves around Nyla and Liam. Nyla is a an ambitious girl on the verge of having a big kick start breakthrough for her career in Chicago. Before taking up office, she decides to spend a laid back summer amidst the sun, the sand and the sea, in Trinidad. Things take a turn when she encounters Liam in a garage. Liam doesn't believe in love, leave alone romance and leads a stiff life. Needless to say, Nyla and Liam are unable to resist getting pulled towards each other. Will they be able to overcome their differences and find solace in each other, or does detiny take Nyla towards her career, is what the book takes us through.
The book was a breezy romance. Although the plot was a trifle predictable, the author's brisk narration made up for it, engaging the reader's interest. I wish the characterisation of Nyla and Liam had more depth and the pages delved more into their idealogies. Be warned that this isn't a standalone story, and hence not conclusive, which might be a put off if you expect your stories to have all their knots tied and all their threads woven, at the end. Nevertheless, the book is still an enjoyable read and would be a good companion for a rainy afternoon, with a cup of coffee! I definitely recommend this book to romance lovers!
